Responsibilities: Install and maintain all server hardware and software systems and administer all server performance and ensure availability for same. Help troubleshoot problems with Linux servers, running different versions of Linux, including Red Hat and Rocky Linux. Engage in continuous testing of new Linux versions and applications on an on-demand basis. Design and maintain all system tools for all scripts and automation processes and monitor all capacity planning. Install and maintain servers. Help automate server maintenance, including running scripts and automated processes. Monitor everyday systems and evaluate availability of all server resources and perform all activities for Linux servers. Maintain and monitor all system frameworks and provide after call support to all systems and maintain optimal Linux knowledge. Assist with user management, such as creating accounts for new hires and training seasoned professionals on company policies. Perform change control. Maintain server uptime and network performance. Assist with server documentation. Maintain server security. What We’re Looking For: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent area of technical study. Minimum 6 years of Industry experience with Linux OS (RHEL, Rocky Linux etc). Installing, monitoring and upgrading Linux system software on company servers and computers. Applying patches and upgrades when necessary. Assisting in resolution of hardware/software platform problems in complex, multi-layered environment. Analyzing impact of software changes across other functional units. Establish, implement, and record Linux Administrator best practices. Implementing and managing system to proactively monitor infrastructure. Specialty in RHEL 7, 8 and 9 systems Strong familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Puppet Experience with Red Hat rgmanager and/or Pacemaker clusters is a must. Maintain responsibility for racking/deracking servers and network connections. Creating and setting standardized backup and recovery policies, as well as security policies. Making recommendations for upgrades to hardware and software based on existing operations, pending needs and available budget. Familiarity with multiple information technologies that include server virtualization, cloud based infrastructure, automation, VMWare and AWS. Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, LDAP and load balancer concepts is a plus. Experience with troubleshooting and support Java JBoss applications is a plus. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always- available service is preferred.
