This job posting is for a position in the Telecom Section and is open to all ROCII Bargaining Unit employees deemed qualified, as determined by the Company, to perform the duties of “Junior Telemetry Technician”.

The successful candidate shall possess at a minimum the following qualifications:

With limited supervision, operate and perform maintenance on mechanical and electronic components of the steerable helical antennas, antenna control units, low noise amplifiers, RF receiving equipment, down-converters, digital and analog recording devices, and distribution amplifiers.Interpret electrical diagrams such as functional block diagrams and schematics.Digital and analog electronic fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot to the LRU level.Ensure proper calibration and operation of all equipment using standard test equipment such as function generators, signal generators, power meters, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.Maintain up-to-date logs and preventive maintenance schedules and give oral and written reports.Must be able to gather mission requirements and coordinate equipment and configure to meet those requirements.Ability to record/maintain computer records via Maximo and Discrepancy Reporting systems for all maintenance activities.Skilled with PC operations, configurations, and ability to troubleshoot problems.Perform manual tasks, which may include lifting 40 lbs or more and some climbing around antenna systems. Mechanical knowledge will be required to maintain systems.The ability to work under stress associated with rigid time demands.Be willing to travel 20% or more of the year.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Associates degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technoligy or equivalent2 years of experience with RF, Telecommunications, and telemetry ground station systems.
