SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Security Coordinator, the K9 Security Officer will perform security service duties through professional and positive interactions with the patients, staff and visitors. Responds to a variety of calls, provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations. Investigates and documents safety hazards, incidents and criminal activity. Patrols designated areas to ensure the protection of all patients, staff, visitors and property of AnMed. Deters crime and aggressive behavior, engages in public relations activities, and provides basic K9 husbandry duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS 

Associate’s degree in security of law enforcement, OR Technical college certificate in a criminal justice or related field, OR Two to four years of security, military, or law enforcement experience  Registered Security Officer with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).  Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of peers both within AnMed and outside the organization.  Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulatory regulations and guidelines related to Law Enforcement and/or private security organizations.
