CGI is looking for an experienced Kafka developer to join our financial services team and provide world class leadership and hands-on expertise to our top tier US bank clients.
• Developing application code & unit tests in Java using Kafka and Spring Boot
• Leading and collaborating on efforts in in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying software.
• Communication with client stakeholders and partners
• Ensuring that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
• Iterative feature development on an agile team.
• Developing testable features with lean requirements and supervision.
• Daily agile SCRUM participation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field
• Must have many of the following: Kafka Architecture Understanding Familiar with all the Kafka Components Experience with Confluent Kafka v6.x or greater Understanding of how Kafka Broker works Experience creating and deploying Kafka Connectors Experience working with Datagen Connectors Solid understanding of Kafka Schema Registry and using schema protocols like (avro, json, protobuf) Solid understanding of Producers and Consumers Deep understanding of Consumer groups Solid understanding of Kafka Streams API and KTables* DevOps (Optional) Experience configuring and maintaining Kafka Topics Understanding the Kafka Topic concepts of offset and retention* Should be hands-on with Unix commands for server related tasks. Experience with REST API’s* Java version
• 5+ years’ experience as Java developer
• 2+ years’ experience with SpringBoot and APIs
• 2+ years’ experience with Kafka
• Strong aptitude for learning on the fly, embracing new technologies, and willingness to make stretch goals
• Strong experience of writing and maintaining unit tests.
• Experience with GIT version control
• Experience with Jenkins and Pipelines
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills
