This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Design, implement, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines and messaging solutions to support critical business operations.Configure, deploy, and maintain Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability and scalability to maximize uptime and support growth.Monitor Kafka performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted data flow.Collaborate with development teams to integrate Kafka into applications and services.Develop and maintain Kafka connectors while implementing security measures to protect date streams.Optimize Kafka configurations for performance, reliability, and scalability.Automate Kafka cluster operations using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual overhead.Create documentation when appropriate.Provide detailed status updates when needed.Log accurate information into the time-tracking system.Continuously learn new tools, environments and acquire new skills to maintain and enhance job performance.Ensure McLane Methodology is followed.Develop and test solutions using the McLane development tools in the development environment that meet the McLane standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must have:
1-2 years of experience working with Apache Kafka in a production environment. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related experience.Knowledge of Kafka architecture, including brokers, topics, partitions, and replicas. Experience with Kafka security, including SSL, SASL, and ACLs.Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and managing Kafka clusters in cloud and on-premises environments.Experience with Kafka stream processing using tools like Kafka Streams, KSQL, or Apache Flink.Understanding of distributed systems, data streaming, and messaging patterns. Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python for Kafka-related development tasks. Confluent Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCAAK) preferred. Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCA-131) preferred. Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred. Have 2-3 years of broad-based experience in specific and related disciplines of the business.Have ability to work independently and to work with other team members.
