Kaizen Technician

Conducts tracking and executing Kaizen events, coordinating with employees on the production floor and supporting all operational excellence efforts in the production facility. Works cross-functionally across the organization to facilitate effective project completion, identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction. Works under limited supervision for routine situations. May provide training and assistance to lower-level employees. Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand. Exercises considerable judgment and initiative in identifying, analyzing and correcting potential health and safety related compliance issues and operational efficiencies

Your day to day:

Organizes, tracks, and leads Kaizen events on the production floor. Uses PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) in all kaizen activities. Involves preparation, execution and reporting outcomes. Leverages WEC resources for learning and implementing 5S, technology, systems, process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction, and the KanBan system as well as to train site personnel Assists with performance excellence gap analysis assessments (value stream mapping) for production floor. Helps identify barriers to project success and solicits help from program champions as needed Teaches, leads, and implements total preventive maintenance (TPM) program under direction of manager Teaches root cause analysis methods and techniques Employs higher-level problem-solving techniques using the 5-Why process Pushes the development, implementation, and direction or functional strategy together with manager Acts as a role model for the behaviors and actions that create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement

What you need to be successful in this role:

HS degree or GED or equivalent. Some college desired 2-3 years preferred manufacturing experience with focus on Lean Manufacturing a plus. Management experience valued. WMS/Lean/Six Sigma-Green Belt certificate preferred

Knowledge:

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.

Skills:

Microsoft Office proficiency, effective written and oral communication, and collaboration skills. Detail oriented, organized, strong work habits focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Self-directed with passion for continuous improvement.

Abilities:

Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-paced and changing environment. Comfortable teaching and presenting
