This position works as a Field Engineer in our Kemin Application Systems Department and will be responsible for developing and installing novel application solutions for our products on feed mill, processing, and farm level. As a field engineer you will also be involved in user training, health and safety monitoring and calibration services.  There is considerable opportunity to develop new application fields and closely cooperate with our global application engineering teams.

Responsibilities Responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of liquid product application systems from request to solution. This includes both electrical and mechanical assembly. Develop and test tailor made PLC and Scada programs to maximize the applicator efficiency. Participate in development of innovative application solutions to support the Kemin programs. Preparation of systems and/or components. Provide day-to-day support to customers. Assist and lead equipment installations, commissioning and give training to the operators. Perform routine on-site maintenance and calibration checks. Assist sales with field trials and application surveys. Monitor program efficiency via sampling and reporting. Prepare manuals and user guides. Participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, training, and workshops, as required.Assist the KAS Manager at working out quotations and taking care of all correspondence for new projects.  Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.5 years mechanical & pneumatic experience (Pumps, Valves, Motors).4 years Project manager (Mechanical – Installation & commissioning of pump stations & Water treatment plants. Work according to the site lay out drawings – Electrical & Mechanical).  ISO9001/GMP/ FAMI-QS is a plus.Driver’s license.

Required Skills

 

Experience with PLC and Scada systems.  Ability to read, understand and create electrical drawings is essential. Taking initiative to keep systems and PLC programmes up to date, doing research for technical / economical improvements. Design and modify electrical drawings according to the functional specifications. Design and modify mechanical drawings according to the functional specifications. Create innovate and intuitive software programs to maximize the efficacy of the Kemin applicators. Make both mechanical and electrical “As-Built” drawings. Select and test specific components for new installations. Perform functional and hydraulic tests prior to applicator shipment. Set-up and execute a maintenance schedule in close collaboration with Sales and the KAS Manager.Able to manage time and tasks allowing concurrent and/ or overlapping tasks to be done simultaneously. Draw up production lists (list of parts) after manufacturing an application system and final sign-off of these lists.Identify and report competitor activities in the market. Be hands on and have excellent organizational skills. Flexible, diligent and a good team player with self-motivation and initiative. Computer literate. Report writing.
