Position Summary:

 

Performs echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds utilizing ultrasound equipment in accordance with established practices and procedures for Kootenai Heart Clinics.

     

Responsibilities:

 
Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies cardiologists of results of examinations
Consults with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements
Calibrates and maintains equipment when needed, maintains operational logs
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Performs a variety of tasks
Works under general supervision
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager
Performs other related duties as assigned

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

       

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

 
Associates degree (AAS), or equivalent, from a CAAHEP accredited college or technical school in noninvasive cardiovascular (or; experience and training necessary for designation of “Registry Eligible” in Echocardiography and vascular sonography) required
ARDMS credentialed in RDCS or CCI credentialed in RCS required within 6 months of hire
ARDMS credentialed in RVT or CCI credentialed in RVS required within 6 months of hire
BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation

       

Working Conditions:

 
Must be able to maintain a standing position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
