Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kibana Engineer to join our team at Scott Air Force Base, supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of Kibana, Elasticsearch, and data visualization principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain Kibana dashboards and visualizations to support data analytics and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data visualizations.
Implement and optimize Elasticsearch queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and visualization performance.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing best practices and adhering to relevant data governance policies.
Develop and maintain documentation for Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and related processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot Kibana and Elasticsearch issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve Kibana and data visualization practices.
Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use Kibana dashboards and visualizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data visualization, data analytics, or a related field.
Proficiency in Kibana and Elasticsearch, including experience with designing and developing Kibana dashboards and visualizations.
Proficiency with SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analytics frameworks.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Elastic Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
