Our team
Data Platforms and Engineering partner with all areas of the bank to deliver data solutions utilising new technologies and strategies that underpin the Bank of the Future. We’re responsible for developing key strategic data platforms that help support and drive both business and regulatory strategic outcomes.

Role Overview
As an Azure Technical Delivery Manager, you will provide leadership, delivery, and management of projects and programmes, specifically via project planning, project financial, MI, and RAID item management and techniques. You will leverage your hands-on knowledge of Azure data services and your experience in delivering projects using Scrum, SAFe Agile, or Waterfall methodologies.

What you’ll be doing

Deliver effective process and governance to ensure quality of deliverables and responsibilities. Minimise and manage risks within agreed policies and procedures. Work with the Data Systems LT to co-ordinate activity across Tribe’s and Squad’s with non-Agile CIO deliveries. Lead and manage projects involving Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Unity Catalog, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Functions, Service Bus, etc. Understand the technical design and the purpose of the project, ensuring alignment with business goals. Communicate effectively with data engineers using technical language as described in the design. Validate the code written by the team, ensuring it meets project requirements and standards. Discuss project terms like risks, dependencies, and other key aspects with project stakeholders and the business community. Ensure adherence and compliance to Data Management Framework. Identify and deliver process and productivity improvements. Effectively manage business unit targets and delivery of change whilst demonstrating commercial awareness.

We you need to have

Experience of managing and delivering medium to large projects (£1m - £2m) of complexity or managing numerous complex streams within a larger program. Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams. Hands-on experience with Azure data services. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 certification. Experience of management forecasting/analysis and reporting. An understanding in project and program management methodologies, tools, and processes across the project and program lifecycle. Experience and knowledge of Agile development.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

A project management professional accreditation, such as the APM - Association for Project Managers. Knowledge of the bank’s project lifecycle frame.
