Responsibilities DIETARY MANAGER Position Summary: The Dietary Manager is responsible for providing direct supervision to dietary staff, working with the Dietitian and Director to ensure safe food preparation, handling, and storage. Maintains appropriate inventory and ensures budgetary guidelines are met. Performs a variety of tasks related to the preparation and serving of food, cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils. Performs all work in accordance with the mission, vision and values. Experience: Supervisory experience and 1-2 years of food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred. Licensure/Certification: Certified Food Service Operator Certificate, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) prefered. Working Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of food preparation utilizing menus, kitchen equipment and kitchen cleaning methods/products, safety and infection control practices. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Demonstrates proficient time management skills. Essential Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion, including bending, handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies of 50 lbs or more.
