The Kitchen Steward is responsible for the non-cooking activities such as dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and overall kitchen cleanliness.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for cleaning kitchen work areas and food service equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, washing work tables and walls, and overall kitchen cleanliness. Responsible for removing trash, cleaning trash cans, washing dishes by hand or in the dishwasher, and cleaning fryers and vents. Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen areas and ensure food service equipment is in proper working order. Responsible for stocking and cleanliness of Team Member breakroom. Assist with stocking of non-alcoholic beverage stations. Ensure the safety and security of Team Members. Other duties as assignedSTANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Understanding all kitchen equipment and appliances for maintenance and cleaning purposes. Must have basic knowledge of chemical usage and be able to meet any required OSHA regulations and health department standards. Oral and written communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure situations in an interruptive environment.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED equivalent. One year of food service work experience is preferred Must be able to complete any classes or certifications required.
