THE JOB:
As a Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher at MGM Springfield, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional culinary experience by ensuring the cleanliness of dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen areas. Your commitment to precision and high standards of health and safety will help maintain seamless kitchen operations, making you an essential part of our team’s success. This will be a full-time opportunity.
THE STARTING RATE:
$17.30 per hourTHE DAY-TO-DAY:
Efficient Dish Handling: Break down, load, unload, catch, and properly sort dishes, glassware, and flatware as they arrive in the dish area, ensuring organized workflow and efficiency.Pot Washing & Storage: Wash, sort, and neatly store pots in their designated locations, with larger items carefully placed on the bottom shelf for safety and convenience.Dishwashing Machine Operations: Load dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers, monitor detergent and chemical levels, and adjust machine controls to ensure optimal cleaning performance.Inspect & Organize Clean Dishes: Remove and inspect cleaned dishes from racks after processing. Carefully stack them in designated carts and shelves, maintaining cleanliness and organization.Metal Polishing: Polish silver, copper, and brass items as needed, maintaining a high standard of shine and presentation.Equipment Transport: Regularly transport essential equipment such as hot and cold boxes, speed racks, Queen Mary carts, and push carts to various outlets, ensuring timely delivery.Floor Maintenance: Sweep and mop floors, clean floor mats, and maintain overall cleanliness in work areas.Sanitation Duties: Wash baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards to maintain a hygienic environment.Waste Management: Separate and remove trash, break down cardboard boxes/items and ensure proper disposal in designated containers. Steam clean and hose out garbage cans to maintain cleanliness and prevent odors.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.Prior kitchen stewarding/dishwasher experience is a bonus.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Able to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.THE PERKS & BENEFITS:
