Kitting Operations Team Lead

Job Purpose:

Our Kitting Operations Lead will oversee a team that manages complex kitting programs and projects by executing customer initiatives with sales and all other functional teams. This role will work with Sales and Finance to price new business and ensures the team's kitting projects are onboarded and distributed according to customer's expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

● Manage assigned Kitting Program Specialist team to include evaluation, coaching, training, development, and staffing to ensure operational excellence.
● Responsible of special project work including customer launch onboarding, analyze production forecast for strategic, complex customer base and setting up cost structure for new opportunities.
● Subject matter expert and key contact for account issues both external and internal, including direct interaction with the customer. Heavy interaction with internal corporate departments.
● Build customer loyalty and confidence by sharing expertise with team members on best practices for proactive customer communication, issue resolution, and critical thinking.
● Responsible to identify and implement improvement opportunities with regards to procurement of raw materials.
● Ensure all customer issues are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner within company guidelines.
● Recognize and identify process improvement opportunities, implement and train on improvements to educate team and mitigate escalated customer issues and concerns.
● Responsible to set up new item numbers along with obtaining copies of vendor quotes and setting up.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● 5+ years preferred in Kitting Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Packaging experience is required.

● Strong negotiation skills.

● Ability to travel to outside vendors.

● Travel 10%.

Location flexible.

Work Experience:

● 1-3 years of related experience of successful management or supervisory experience within a large or national organization strongly preferred.● 5-10 years of related job experience.● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.● Ability to work in a team environment.● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.● Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.● Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.● Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (13 months to 3 years)● Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.● Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).● Strong planning and organization skills are required.● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.● The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Working Conditions:
The work environment for this position requires:
● Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur.
● Exposure to loud noise.
● Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.

Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 
● Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.
● Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.
● Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.  
● Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance.
● Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
● Kneeling -  kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
