Overview
We are looking for a Knife Sharpener Trainee here in our Pleasantville, NY office. This is a Trainee opportunity for a reliable, punctual, and committed individual to learn and grow within a skilled trade.
Responsibilities
Master the fundamentals of the knife sharpening process, guided by experienced professionals. Assist in maintaining sharpening equipment and ensuring a clean, organized workspace. Learn to inspect cutlery for quality and report any concerns to management. Follow all company safety guidelines, ensuring a secure and efficient work environment. Operate sharpening machinery under supervision, progressing as skills develop. Develop attention to detail and precision—key traits of an expert sharpener. Support production workflow and assist with administrative tasks as needed.Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required for this role. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to communicate frequently and constantly maintain visual acuity in a busy production environment Must be able to operate machinery safely for long periods of time. Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a skilled trade. Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work. Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions. Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.Compensation Range: Up to $19.00/ HR contingent upon experience
