About the Role

As an Early Childhood Support Teacher, you will provide daily care to children of all ages throughout the center, as outlined on your daily schedule. You will collaborate with primary and support teachers to execute classroom duties such as: active supervision of children inside the classroom and outdoors, meeting basic needs of children, and providing a fun, safe and engaging learning environment.

What You’ll Do

In accordance with our reflective planning philosophy, partner with Primary Teachers to foster new learning and play opportunities, providing children with autonomy over their learning

Engage with the children by playing alongside them, talking with them and asking them questions to further their development 

Accurately track children in your care and provide active supervision while maintaining the children’s health and safety

Assist Primary Teachers in maintaining a classroom environment that meets all state and business policies/procedures including, but not limited to, appropriate child guidance techniques and redirection when needed

Follow a daily schedule navigating a variety of classrooms throughout the day while managing your time effectively

Write meaningful messages in the parent communication app relaying information about their childs’ day, including diaper changes, feedings, daily activities, etc.  

Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, organized and engaging learning environment in the classrooms throughout the CDC

Greet and engage with parents in order to provide excellent customer service to our children and families throughout the center

Have transparent and appropriate conversations with parents during pick up and drop off

Maintain confidentiality of the children, parents and co-workers

Attend all staff meeting and required trainings to meet yearly continuing education requirements

What Skills You Have

Required

Be at minimum 18 years of age 

Introduction to Child Care Profession (formerly Early Childhood I or equivalent)

Passion for working with young children 

Maintain all state required trainings including but not limited to: preventing abusive head trauma, child abuse and neglect reporting requirements, First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED training

Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and leaders to ensure the safety and needs of the children are met 

Treat all of the children, parents, peers, leaders, vendors and business partners with dignity and respect

Strong communication and customer service skills to build welcoming and inclusive relationships with families and staff

Enjoy a fast paced work environment where everyday is different

Preferred

Entry Level Early Childhood Courses including:

Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher (formerly Early Childhood II or equivalent)

Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Care (or equivalent)
