Why choose an apprenticeship at KONE?

At KONE, we ensure our apprentices receive work-based training with all the necessary facilities, resources, and opportunities to master their vocation.  You will gain experience and a professional industry-recognized qualification (NVQ3) and MOET Apprenticeship standard and become a qualified lift or escalator engineer. The qualifications and experience gained through this Apprenticeship will open doors to further roles within the organisation.

What you'll do

Hands-on experience: Shadow and work with experienced Engineers on various sites.

Maintenance & Installation: Get involved in the general maintenance or installation of lifts or escalators.

Servicing & fault finding: Service lifts and, escalators, including fault finding.

Customer interaction: Deal efficiently and effectively with customers.

Practical information

Working Week: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. On Friday from 8:00am – 3:00pm.

Hours of work: 38 per week.

Duration: 42 months.

Start date: 8th of September 2025.

Level: Level 3 MOET Apprenticeship standard and appropriate NVQ3.

Be prepared to travel as work-based training will primarily be at our customer sites. Travel to and from the workplace takes place outside of 8am to 5pm, and 8am to 3pm.

Salary: Starting at £16,957.47, with annual increases subject to performance.

We offer apprenticeships across various location in Great Britain: Central London, West-London, Heathrow, Keighley, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Basingstoke, Essex and Bristol.

Who can apply?

Age: You will be 16+ on the apprenticeship start date on the 8th of September 2025.

Education: 5 GCSEs (A-C or 4 to 9) including Maths, English, and Science (or equivalent).

Skills & Requirements

Desired skills: Practical skills, logical thinking, customer service, and good communication.

Personal qualities: Highly motivated, committed, positive attitude, effective communication, persistence, and proactive approach.
