Position Summary

Operates x-ray equipment in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services. Reports to Clinical Manager and Administrator.

 

Responsibilities

•    Performs quality imaging services in an efficient and effective manner

•    Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

•    Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment to provide a safe environment for patients, physicians, and staff

•    Regularly inspects equipment and lead aprons to be sure they are in proper working condition

•    Ensures radiation monitoring devices are used at all times

•    Utilizes proper radiation safety practices at all times

•    Ensures that all radiation compliance measures are maintained including required exposure and equipment maintenance logs

•    Performs other related duties as assigned

•    Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field 

•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

•    Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

•    Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school in Radiologic Technology or US Military equivalent required

•    Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required

•    BLS required

 

Working Conditions

•    Must be able to wear protective lead apron for extended periods of time

•    Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position

•    Typical equipment used in a clinical job

•    Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend

•    Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.

•    Exposure to electrical/ mechanical harm, i.e faulty equipment

•    Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs
