Location: Ken Garff Corporate Office (111 E Broadway, Suite 900, Salt Lake City, UT 84111)

Reports to: Associate Director

Required Travel: Frequent, Local

We are a statewide nonprofit foundation based in downtown Salt Lake City that offers its employees creativity, autonomy, and the opportunities to change lives.  

Mission: 

The mission of Success in Education is to provide a pathway to college or careers. We do this through literacy, technology and mentoring programs, and exposure to scholarships, internships, and careers.

Programs and Purposes:  

The purpose of Keys to Success is to motivate students to unlock their future by connecting them to scholarships, internships, and careers. The purpose of Road to Success is to improve literacy skills of K-6 grade students through incentivized daily reading. The purpose of Women Who Succeed is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to grow confidence and leadership skills. The purpose of Ken Garff Esports is to enhance and enrich scholastic experiences through and beyond gaming. 

Position Summary:  

The Program Manager is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Success in Education’s programming throughout Utah. Each manager will be assigned a specific geographic area, where they will focus on elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in their region; this will include building strategic relationships with community partners from their region and throughout the state of Utah. In addition to overseeing Success in Education’s programming within a specific geographic region, a

Program Manager will also be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one of the Success in Education programs. 

Managers work with other program managers and team members.  The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring there is an emphasis on creating opportunity for underrepresented populations, including: low-income, minority, and female students. This role is responsible for implementing strategies that will ensure student success and a high completion rate.

Regional Job Responsibilities – Bear River and Uintah Basin:

Oversee the northern Utah school districts that implements Road to Success, Keys to Success, Ken Garff Esports and Women Who Succeed. Some responsibilities may be to: Coordinate closely with school principals, counselors, and College Access Advisors to ensure Keys to Success is implemented throughout the region.Ensure Key Contacts are in place in each high school to garner support and enthusiasm for Keys to Success.Establish and foster relationships with districts’ Career Technology Educators to ensure Success in Education programming is a priority for each school district.Ensure principals and counselors are aware of the mentee opportunity for Women Who Succeed on the Keys to Success app.Act as a liaison for Ken Garff Esports Club Advisors to K en Garff Esports Subject Matter Expert and Director of Technology EducationVisit schools on a semi-regular basis to:Distribute prizes and act as a support to Ken Garff Esport Club Advisors and students.Deliver promotional materials such as banners, posters, flyers, and incentives to various schools in assigned geographic area. Schedule and host events as school to promote programs, such as classroom visits, tabling events, or presentations at parent nights. Ensure equity and access are of high priority for student enrollment by targeting low income schools, rural schools, and minority studentsTrack Key Performance Indicators for assigned geographic area.Provide weekly reports to leadership as to progress and challenges in area regarding measured goals. Communicate regularly and integrate initiatives as appropriate with other team members, including training on assigned Subject Matter Expect role. 

Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities – Women Who Succeed: 

Facilitate mentor-mentee pairing and oversee the seamless execution of conferences, managing logistical details.Manage the application, budgeting, organization and selection for the mentee scholarship program. Write content for monthly mentee newsletters and the WWS social media pages. Provide comprehensive support and track engagement of all mentees in the Women Who Succeed program.Plan and host monthly workshops for WWS mentees following the monthly topics outlined in the workbook which include development of personal and professional skills. Develop statewide recruitment methods and materials to distribute to fellow Program Managers.Collaborate with the Women Who Succeed team to coordinate events and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree  Proficient in EnglishConfident in front of large crowds as well as one -on-one interactionsAbility to collect, process, and present measured resultsAbility to plan around and take responsibility for goals and measured results Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookOrganized, self-starter, team playerHas integrity and values transparency in the workplaceGraphic design, website, and social media experience are a plus

Other Work Conditions:  

This position requires regular travel; some occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.This is a full-time, exempt position.  Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm on a hybrid (in-office and virtual) schedule. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
