Kubernetes Administrator

We are seeking a talented individual to join our IT Systems Engineering team at Marsh UK.

This role can be based in either one of our Liverpool, Bristol, Chichester or Manchester offices.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Kubernetes Administrator to provide configuration and maintenance support for Kubernetes clusters for our high-availability environments for the EMEA region.

Working closely with development, operations, infrastructure and security teams, you will help ensure the smooth deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

This is an opportunity to join a newly formed, Global Support team who together manages 52 hosting environments globally.

We will count on you to:

Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or cloud-based), including upgrade and patch managementEnsure the high availability, scalability, and reliability of Kubernetes environments, with optimized system resourcesManage and troubleshoot deployments using Helm charts, manifests, or other CI/CD toolsMaintain detailed documentation of Kubernetes configurations and operational processes.

What you need to have: 

Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters using tools such as `kubectl`, Helm, or Kustomize.In-depth knowledge of container technologies, including Docker.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

What makes you stand out?

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.Knowledge of centralized logging systems like Fluentd, Logstash, or Loki.Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools, and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
