Position Title: Kymene Operator
Rate: Technician A
Schedule: Area runs 24/7; coverage by 8 hr rotating shifts; overtime as needed; Serve as “extra” staff one week of monthly rotation for packaging and material handling
Summary: Active participant in high performance team responsible for the daily manufacturing activities in the Kymene area- oversees production in two reactors including pre-polymer and finished product batches, unloads bulk raw materials, packages material as needed; transfers waste, pallets and used containers; handles inbound packaged goods and supplies for area
Position Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Desired Experience: Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and related equipment, safe chemical handling/ packaging, ability to safely operate a powered industrial truck.
Personal Knowledge: Computer Skills (MS word, Excel, Lotus notes, SAP)
Personal Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, a sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize work, and the mind-set for safety and attention to detail. Good Teamwork skills. Ability to perform manual labor including walking up and down stairs, climbing on and off forklift, crouching to make tie in for rail car unloading and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: Works in an active chemical manufacturing environment between a control room, outside process equipment area and warehouse/ charging area; works rotating shifts, Ambient environmental conditions apply (rain, cold, heat, etc); Frequently traverses steps and walks across uneven surfaces; May bend, squat or kneel periodically during day, lifts loads of up to 50 lbs, exerts force by pushing and pulling while using grip strength; required to wear special PPE when unloading chemicals including impervious chemical suit and respirator with chemical boots and gloves.
