Department OverviewInnovation is the oxygen of our company, and in 2023, we invested more than US$850 million in research and development (R&D). We’re now opening a new Research & Development Centre in Cork, Ireland focused on designing software for the company’s comprehensive land mobile radio (LMR) portfolio, with plans for expansion across other technologies in the future.

Job Description

This role is office based out of our Cork site in Ireland.

We are looking for a self motivated individual to help move forward the next generation public safety experience, and to work with a team of top experienced professionals to enable mission critical services and solutions.

In this position, you will have various responsibilities in regards to the testing lab and the systems within the testing lab.

These responsibilities include the following items:

Supporting Radio Frequency (RF) system testing efforts

Working with a radio test team on supporting testing efforts

Identifying technical and quality issues.

Understanding of networking equipment and configuration

Day-to-day support and troubleshooting of hardware/software problems

Lab maintenance/support

Perform system health checks (Devices, Server-side applications).

Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities in a timely manner

Demonstrated communications skills, both verbal and written

Demonstrated understanding of RF

Installing and configuring testing equipment including

Servers

Network equipment

RF equipment


Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements:

AAS in Computer and Electronics Technology or similar degree / Technical Certificate with five or more years of experience in radio, LMR, RF, programming, or electronics field / system technician support

Ability to lift 40-45lbs

Familiarity with Motorola LMR systems a plus

Good personal and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively

Detailed approach to issues investigation

Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Google applications (Gmail, Sheets, etc)

Must have thorough knowledge of PC hardware and software

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment

Desired Skills:

Motorola ASTRO system knowledge

Experience with test automation and automation tools

Experience with configuring and managing the Network Equipment, such as switches and routers

Experience with Calibration of Signal Generators/ Signal Analyzers/ Oscilloscopes a plus

Troubleshoot services for all LAN and WAN hardware components, and configure correct RFSite communication equipment.

Experience working with network analyzers, such as Wireshark or Omnipeek

Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins a plus

Experience in test automation is a plus
