Job Description
12 hour shifts
Job Summary
The Laboratory Aide assumes responsibility for the performance, with good coordination, of phlebotomy and related duties of phlebotomy. Orientates and attends in-services to maintain uniform quality within the department.

Technical School Completion of certified phlebotomy program preferred 2-4 years hospital experience preferred 0-1 years Experience with laboratory information systems preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to make quick decisions and work independently. Good interpersonal skills a must. Knowledge of the various clinical normal ranges for all age groups required. Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Requires good interpersonal skills. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to function effectively in fast-paced environment with multiple demands/deadlines. Position requires some overtime and ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions and document care given in English. Ability to plan and organize.Licenses and Certifications
AMT certificate or Phlebotomy certificate from accredited institution preferred
