Lab Aide/Phlebotomist - FT

Laredo Medical Center's laboratories are dedicated to quality service and patient-centered care.** Position's Purpose and Essential Functions: Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Records observations and measurements and reports results. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining clean rooms and equipment. Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment. 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Applicants Job Requirements Include: + **Required:** High school diploma or equivalent. + **Required:** CPR certification within 30 days from hire. + **Preferred:** Formal graduation from a phlebotomy program. + **Preferred:** Knowledge of medical terminology. + **Preferred:** Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent as a phlebotomist preferred. + **Preferred:** Bilingual in English and Spanish.
