Applications are invited for the position within the Quality Department, based at our Springs facility in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Intrinsic Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key performance areas:
Conducting accurate and timely analyses Driving business efficiency through workstation optimization and effective resource utilization Ensuring superior product quality by analyzing, tracking, and trending reference controls Maintaining the Quality Management System and ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practices Ensuring reliability through the execution of governance standards, including method development, verification, and validation routines Implementing and overseeing asset care programs for laboratory equipment and instruments Performing all relevant administrative and process-related duties Initiating and supporting root cause problem-solving efforts Cultivating a strong quality culture within the area of responsibility Building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships with internal customers and colleagues Enhancing customer satisfaction by achieving or exceeding targeted service levels Supporting business growth through cross-functional improvement initiatives and new development projects Driving internal process improvements and facilitating their implementation Actively participating in Best Practices TPM initiatives
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
A recognized and relevant Degree or National Diploma in Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field, or in the final stages of completing the qualification Relevant experience in an analytical laboratory (experience in a wine-related intrinsic laboratory will be advantageous) Strong numerical and analytical skills Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of LIMS being advantageous Familiarity with Health and Safety standards, HACCP, BRC, ISO 9001, 14001, 1841, IFS, ISO 17025, etc. Strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work accurately under pressure In-depth understanding of quality assurance with a focus on an execution-driven culture Exceptional attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team Innovative thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving Flexibility to work shifts and/or extended hours when required Reliable transport to and from work Capability to handle the physical demands of the role
