Job Description
The specimen processor will support a new local site for the main lab located in Denver, CO. This role involves sorting specimens, entering patient requisitions, labeling specimens, and packaging them for transport to the main lab. The position involves pre-analytical and post-analytical processes of testing, offering a fantastic opportunity to grow a career in the lab environment.
ResponsibilitiesOpen specimens and pour off into secondary containers for preparation for analysis and testing.Verify all samples have arrived, inspect for any damage, remove and dispose of packaging, and move samples for entry.Operate multiple computer software systems, remembering which software applies to different samples.Verify names on samples match requisitions.Handle various sample types including urine, blood, serum, plasma, body fluid, and unknown substances.Create labels and label samples after entry into systems.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma (Bachelor's degree or Technical degree is preferred).Intermediate computer skills, including typing and 10-key proficiency.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Able to work in a fast-paced production environment to meet established turnaround times.Additional Skills & QualificationsDesire to advance within the lab.Experience in multitasking.Work Environment
The role is based at the MedTox facility and operates on the 2nd shift, from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday to Friday. The team consists of 10 people on the 2nd shift, creating a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.80 - $19.80/hr.
