Job Title: Laboratory Assistant
Job Description

We are currently seeking Laboratory Assistants for the toxicology department. The role involves handling various pre-analytical tasks such as aliquotting, inventory management, and building batches of specimens. The position supports lab testing up until specimens are passed off to technicians and requires a significant amount of pipetting.

ResponsibilitiesReceive, stage, and aliquot specimens for testing.Work within a high volume laboratory as part of a dedicated team to ensure patient results are reported within an acceptable turn-around-time.Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation.Perform required QC/QA duties which include error detection, maintaining records/logs, and pulling samples for further processing.Accession and process specimens.Sort and organize samples for processing.Essential SkillsAssociates Degree or Bachelors Degree in a science related field is preferred but not required.0-1+ years of lab experience is preferred.Prior experience working as an accessioner or specimen processor is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsBiology knowledge.Data entry skills.Work Environment

The work environment is a high-volume laboratory setting requiring attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team. The role involves a significant amount of pipetting and other pre-analytical tasks to support lab testing. Employees are expected to maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation regularly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
