Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Lab Assistant I for their Calabasas Hills, CA location. Responsibilities: + Performs non-technical procedures in support of the testing process from initial set up of supplies to disposal of waste. + Handles serum, whole blood, plasma, and urine samples. + Handles proper disposal of radioactive and biohazard waste. + Performs sample management tasks such as volumization, building samples into load lists, labeling of samples, storage, and preparation for disposal. + Assists in locating missing samples and pulling specimens from freezer storage locations. + Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies. + Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance. + Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management. Requirements: + High School Diploma or equivalent Physical Demands: + Requires utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one’s feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling. + Requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
