Lab Assistant - Processor

The Position:

Due to the success of our genomic tests and our product pipeline, Veracyte is hiring an additional team member for our CLIA Cytology Lab. The Laboratory Assistant – Specimen Processor will perform routine specimen processing in accordance with established protocols. The Specimen Processor receives, inspects, and prepares cytology samples for cytological and histological testing in a high volume CLIA Laboratory. Additional responsibilities include all related clerical functions, lab maintenance and regulatory compliance tasks. You'll work alongside a highly engaged team of Laboratory Assistants and will collaborate with other groups across Veracyte. You'll have the opportunity for ongoing training, competency assessments and sharing ideas for continuous improvement in the lab.   The schedule will be Full Time (Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30am - 6:00pm).

Primary responsibilities for role:

Receive and process incoming thyroid FNA samples Maintain equipment and adequate stock of supplies Keep work area in a safe, aseptic organized manner Fulfills clerical duties which may include but not limited to specimen archival, data entry, filing Process specimens using automated instrumentation and maintains Quality Assurance logs Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation

Who You Are:
You've successfully completed an accredited program or you have a two or four year degree. Candidates with previous clinical laboratory work experience will be given preference. You have demonstrated the ability to problem solve and proactively collaborate with peers. In previous roles you were known for your high attention to detail and dedication to customers and/or patients. You are seeking a role where you can contribute at your highest level, learn from peers, and be a part of new emerging technologies that improve patient outcomes.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
