Our Laboratory is recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant III to help support the growing needs of the organization. The Laboratory is critical for a number of departments to diagnose, treat, and stabilize patients within their respective units. As a Laboratory Assistant III, you will play a crucial role in collecting specimen and providing the specimen to the Clinical Laboratory Scientists for processing.

Responsibilities

The Laboratory Assistant III primarily performs laboratory specimen processing, specimen send outs and/or Microbiology specimen processing (including AFB processing). Performs clerical and phlebotomy functions (including pediatric and nursery), as described in the Laboratory Assistant III job descriptions, as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
 High School Diploma or equivalent.
 Two years of college preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
 Two years laboratory experience (including phlebotomy)
 Experience utilizing a Laboratory Information System, preferably Mysis, Evident.
 Knowledge of specimen send-outs and microbiology specimen processing, preferred
CERTIFICATIOS/LICENSURE:
 Phlebotomy certification (CPT1) from a California Department of Health Services
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
 Ability to perform all phlebotomy functions, including adult, pediatric and neonates.
 Familiarity with laboratory terminology.
