Element has an opportunity for a Lab Chemist who will be primarily responsible for performing regeneration of water treatment to provide sufficient boiler water make up.

 

Responsibilities Proficiency in operating equipment like spectrophotometer and ICP-MS &TOCThe candidate must be able to handle and operate various wet lab instruments especially Discrete analyzer, pH / EC / TDS meters, ovens, COD, BOD, HACH Spectrophotometer etcAble to perform method validation and verification using instruments like ICP-MS &TOCPerform onsite physical parameters as per client requirementsSupporting other Chemists during analysisCompile the analytical data for review and maintain CRM stockPrepare the reagents, standard solution and ensure standardization of the solution used before the titrationHandling and storage of all chemicals as per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)Managing the calibration of glassware and the instrumentsPerform qualitative and quantitative analysis of samples as per standard methods APHA, Inhouse &US-EPAPerform analysis of water, wastewater, sea water, Effluent waterMaintaining ISO 17025 daily record updatesCoordinating with the other technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning scheduleManual handling of samplesGeneral maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipmentAdherence to quality and safety of Element policyInteraction with clients during witness testingEnsuring compliance to all Element Material Technology quality standardsHandle and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and implement corrective and preventive measuresContribute to the training and supervision of technicians within the departmentFollow all safety requirements, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipmentSupport other aspects of instrumental organic analytical testingManage assigned duties efficiently to meet the company’s Turnaround Time (TAT) requirements for reportingDemonstrates expertise in the analysis of data, from the qualitative to the rigorously statistical, strong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesReporting to the Laboratory Manager to support the laboratory’s organic chemistry businessesAdhering to the company's Health & Safety and Quality standards and laboratory Practices are mandatory Skills / Qualifications Typical educational requirements are B.Sc and/or M.Sc. in Chemistry3+ years’ hands one experience s for the analysis of Potable Water ,effluent water and watersHandlining of equipment trouble shootingKnowledge of analytical chemistry techniques demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performanceShould be proficient in ISO-17025:2017 laboratory quality management systemSelf-motivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skills with an ability to work under pressureMust be a flexible, adaptable, self-driven team player with a positive attitudeExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in both oral and written EnglishStrong analytical, technical and problem-solving skillsAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (LIMS)Proficiency in spectrophometric techniques, specifically ICP-MS and other wet lab instrumentsStrong background and comprehensive understanding of APHA and US-EPA procedures, specifically for wastewater and marine samples analysisExperience with commercial testing laboratories is highly advantageousCapable of working independently under minimal supervision
