Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Facilities Engineer you will help to unite the principles of electronics, mechanics and controls to develop sophisticated, economical and reliable automated HVAC test facilities in an R&D Laboratory environment.  This role will analyze and troubleshoot existing Lab Facility issues and controls systems to provide timely and cost-effective solutions.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as On-Site in the R&D Lab in La Crosse 5 days per week.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

Lead the effort to provide refrigeration, mechanical, and controls development for new facilities to support product development needs of Trane Commercial Systems productsSolutions provider for all existing facility related issuesDevelop total preventative maintenance plans and ensure maintenance plans are executed on a timely basis to minimize facility downtime for all new and existing facilitiesLead and support advancement of new technologies to aid in the design and speed of new product developmentMust be able to lead and motivate individuals and teamsResults oriented with a strong customer focusFollow good engineering practices and develop practical solutionsDemonstrate high personal energy, integrity and ethicsLess than 15% travel required
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences and at least 2-years of facility or HVAC controls experience is required.
 

Key Competencies: 

Working knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and machine design.Experience with compressors, fans, variable frequency drives, or motors.Working knowledge of HVAC principles/components and a thorough understanding of interactions of complex HVAC systemsMust be a highly motivated and team player.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required


Compensation:

Pay Range: $67,000 - $123,000 annually.  Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
