Lab Manager, HTCL LBA
Site Name: Belgium-Rixensart Posted Date: Dec 17 2024 Job purpose: Management of an in-house lab team, performing clinical assay development and validation, assay maintenance and clinical testing in agreement to GCP/GCLP and EHS requirements. Your responsibilities: · You manage a team of 6-12 lab technicians, with focus on people management processes according to local rules (e.g. people development, engagement, hiring, training) · You are responsible for the operational and technical management of ligand binding assays (i.e. ECL, ELISA) , supporting one or several vaccine projects with limited number of technologies in collaboration with the assay owner · You supervise lab team in agreement with relevant quality management systems and VxCL&AP (Vaccine Clinical Laboratory & Assay Portfolio) governance to: - Implement assay development and validation plans - Implement assay trouble shooting plans - Perform assay maintenance (Critical reagents characterization, qualification, bridging) - Monitor assay performance over time (QC charts, trending analysis, QC panels) - Ensure clinical testing in accordance to agreed timelines and data release milestones - Oversee data checks and data release · You are responsible for the adequate qualification and training of the lab team with respect to the activities performed · You perform individual risk assessment for lab technicians and ensure lab activities are performed in agreement to EHS requirement · You provide short to mid-term views on the anticipated workload versus capacities of the team, co-ordinate resources according to defined project priorities and VxCL&AP/R&D initiatives · You apply good documentation practices (GDP) and manage human biological specimens and raw data in agreement to GSK rules · You identify assay deviations, define & manage change control and CAPAs related to the assays in collaboration with Lab support (For transversal questions, or questions on lab facilities and equipment) · You escalate & act on any opportunities, risks and issues identified · You share know-how in the field of competency and support technicians in their development Why you?
