Lab Pack Specialist

Position Summary:
The Lab Pack Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Royse City facility both by performing waste consolidation and operating the equipment. This role involves waste handling, loading and unloading of bulk containers, participation in Triumvirate’s safety culture, and being able to work and operate in a safe and compliant manner.
Essential responsibilities and duties include:
o Manage hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other state and federal government agencies’ regulations
o Execute onsite support services for the entire lifecycle of a hazardous materials management programs at client sites by performing chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and shipping hazardous waste off-site
o Characterize, consolidate, pack, and ship hazardous waste for clients per RCRA and DOT regulations
o Train clients on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management
o Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients in their facilities and laboratories using Triumvirate’s ADVISE program
o Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Triumvirate’s Health and Safety Practices
o Respond to chemical spill emergencies by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials
· Upon completion of emergency response (ER) training, all Environmental Specialists will be on a rotating ER team; requirements include being on-call 24 hours each day for one week out of each month. This individual will be required to work three weekends throughout the year.
Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure all onsite operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
o Participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety within the team.
o Conduct routine inspections of onsite equipment and operations for safety compliance.
o Work with internal operations team to schedule the delivery of hazardous & non-hazardous waste while maintaining 10-day facility compliance
o Work alongside safety team to manage light duty accommodations as appropriate and defined by TEI safety team and healthcare professions
o Participate in after action reviews of incidents as necessary
o Correct and enforce safety policies while onsite, in the warehouse and during team meetings, escalating as appropriate
Required qualifications:
o 1-3 years of relevant work experience
o Valid driver’s license
o Interest in the environmental health & safety field
o Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual
o Leadership experience/potential
o Strong communication, problem solving, and relationship building skills
o Successful completion (upon point of hire) of OSHA/DOT physical examination
o This is a safety sensitive role
Preferred skills:
o Completion of 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper
o CPR and First Aid Training
o Class B Commercial Driver’s License
o Experience in a customer service environment
