The Quality Specialist works closely with the MCF managers, supervisors, and other lab personnel. Specialist is responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of the quality assurance activities for Mayo Clinic Florida Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) and assists with the laboratory the document control program. Must have exemplary human relation skills and proven problem-solving skills and be able to identify, analyze, evaluate, and solve quality problems within the department. Must be capable of taking data sets and using quality templates (such as charts, graphs, flow diagrams) to convey quality outcomes which can be used by management and administration in monitoring and measuring quality assurance activities. Must be self-motivated to work on projects and lead teams in making process improvements within the department. ****This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**** **Qualifications** The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology or related field. At least three to five years laboratory experience is required. **Additional Skills and Qualifications:** Must be self-motivated, able to work independently on multiple tasks, Able to work on projects which may not be fully defined. Good human relations/communication/organizational skills are needed to interact with various levels of personnel. Knowledge of and experience with laboratory regulations, quality assurance, and quality improvement processes. **License or Certification:** Must be licensed as Florida Technologist in at least one of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, Microbiology, Serology, Molecular Pathology, Histology, or Cytology. ****During the selection process you will participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience.
