Lab Software Engineer
Meet the Team Join our R&D campus in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, as an experienced Software Development Engineer. You'll work with a diverse team that drives projects in networking architecture development, innovates, and develops new solutions to complex problems. Your Impact * Design, configure, and maintain lab environments to support various networking projects and initiatives. * Install and configure networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. * Develop automation for driving efficiency in lab environments and verifying device operation. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network configurations and connectivity in the lab setting. * Collaborate closely with engineering and development teams to replicate customer environments and scenarios. * Document network configurations, test plans, and procedures to ensure consistent and reliable lab operations. * Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance lab capabilities. * Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. * Experience in network engineering, with a strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs). * Hands-on experience with networking hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista). Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree. * Familiarity with network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP. \#WeAreCisco #WeAreCisco where every individual brings their unique skills and perspectives together to pursue our purpose of powering an inclusive future for all.
