Heidelberg Materials is seeking a concrete Lab Supervisor. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role will be responsible for managing the quality control laboratory and ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance for all ready-mix concrete products. This position is located in Vancouver, BC.

What You'll Be Doing

Proactively manage the safety and health of employees, continuously improving safety performance, and maintaining lab and testing equipment.Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards, processes, and controls while ensuring compliance with Group guidelines and maintaining CCiL certification.Supervise Quality Control staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and providing ongoing support and training to lab personnel and production employees.Gather, analyze, and report quality control data and statistics, maintaining up-to-date and accurate quality control records and lab reports.Determine laboratory strategy to align with plant and company goals, interpret quality control test results, resolve issues, and control inventory by balancing production with demand forecasts.

What Are We Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree considered an asset.Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) considered an asset.Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within the ready-mix concrete, construction materials, or related industries, with proven lab supervision experience and a track record of supervising and developing technical staff.Strong technical knowledge of mix designs, control procedures, and product applications, with a comprehensive understanding of applicable codes, standards, and test methods (CSA, ACI, ASTM, AASHTO).Proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including the use of relevant software applications, and strong technical writing abilities.
