BJC HealthCare System is hiring a **Full-Time Lab Supervisor II – Outreach/Leased Phlebotomy for Missouri Baptist Medical Center (3015 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131)**
**Position Details:**
+ **Day Shift Hours:** Mon- Fri (7am – 4pm) – hours may vary
+ **Oversees employees who perform phlebotomy**
+ oversee a team of 20-25 direct reports performing phlebotomy operations across multiple locations in the St. Louis area
+ 50% of time to people management
+ Partner with office managers, medical assistants, nurses, and physicians, as well as managing data, adjusting staffing levels, training staff, review safety events, and implementing process improvements
**Experience:**
+ **Phlebotomy** and Lab experience (preferred)
+ **People leader experience (highly preferred)**
+ **Phlebotomy Supervisor, Phlebotomy Lead, Lab supervisor**
**_Requirements:_**
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, HC, or Physical/Life Science
+ 2 years or more of supervisor experience

**Preferred Qualifications**
**Role Purpose**
Responsible for managing daily operations (equipment, systems, workflow, service levels, procedures) and staff (first level supervision, scheduling, coaching staff development, etc) within regulatory requirements.
**Responsibilities**
+ Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
+ Supervises laboratory activities and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained and procedures are performed promptly, accurately, and precisely according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
+ Keeps abreast of new developments, techniques and procedures on equipment, tests, and methods as well as other information relating to the laboratory and writes and / or updates procedures for assigned areas as necessary.
+ Schedules staff and assign work to ensure that laboratory procedures are performed promptly proficiently, and accurately. (When necessary the supervisor is expected to perform tasks routinely assigned to direct reports.)
+ Establishes systems and processes to streamline tasks and eliminate waste. Takes responsibility for the daily operations, both technically and administratively to ensure quality services.
+ Participates in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
+ Responsible for monitoring laboratory business functions such as outreach services (client response, onsite/offsite patient service centers, etc), registrations, laboratory test billing, or send out test referral. May ensure the correct hardware and IT applications are present for staff to perform job functions and participates in the validation of new software applications.
+ BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
