Join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Research Group (CRG) Controllership team and lead the accounting for laboratory supplies inventory in an exceptionally dynamic environment. This pivotal role manages a small team to ensure flawless adherence to accounting principles and standards, driving our mission forward!
This is a fully remote position for candidates located in eastern standard time (EST).
Candidate of choice should expect domestic and possibly international travel to our laboratory sites for expected inventory count periods.
Responsibilities of the position include:Establishing and monitoring supplies inventory-related internal controls, procedures, and policiesSupporting Labs finance and the Controllership teamsSuccessfully implementing the closing of the Oracle inventory module during month-end in accordance with company deadlinesManaging supplies inventory counts and observation proceduresCollecting and analyzing complex financial informationEstablishing, improving, and monitoring metrics and supplies inventory dashboardsCoordinating consumption trends and exposure to excess or obsolete supplies inventoryPreparing accurate, transparent, and timely financial reports and accounting statements to support leadership in decision-makingPreparing or reviewing complex journal entries and reconciliations to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and completePartnering with Shared Services functions to identify expanded support and migration of workProviding technical accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational managers to help them develop budgets, understand financial reports, and improve operational efficiencyPreparing for consultations with corporate technical accounting where required per policyEnsuring accuracy and compliance with all accounting regulationsAssisting with internal and external financial auditsEnsuring efficient set up and deployment of Oracle invetory accounting system for new and growing sitesContinuously improving inventory accounting and reporting processesMaintaining relationships with third-party kit assembly vendors and monitoring accounting for offsite consumable suppliesLeading third-party scan gun programLead Oracle Inventory training module and guidesMinimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field5+ years of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of accounting/financial principlesAdvanced knowledge of consumable inventoryProficiency in applying advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis are essentialWorks independently with minimal supervision, plans work schedules to meet goals, and performs under stressSalary Transparency
The salary range estimated for this position is $115,000 - $125,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
