Your Role: 

At MilliporeSigma, the Laboratory Technician 1 role serves a crucial role in mastering the neat filling process, manufacturing of simple solution standards, and assisting in a variety of production technologies to gain knowledge and training in all facets of production.

 

Manufacture a wide variety of neats including secondary standards and solution standards of both solids and liquidsMaster automation to assist with production efficiencyTroubleshoot and/or resolve minor equipment issuesManufacture whole volumes using volumetric pipettes and glass wear           Master the neat filling process both liquids and solids utilizing a wide range of automation such as the powder Auto filler, Quantos dosing system, and the B&S ampule machine                                                      Prepare and manufacture simple/basic soil samples. This includes the process of grinding soil, sterilization, weighing/mixing, and overall knowledge of the soil process    Manufacture basic solution standards such as Calibration standards, PTs, and Chemstandards.Gain overall knowledge of the solution standard process and strive for more complex solutions once trained in the production process  Practice lab safety and good housekeeping standards while looking for ways to improve operations

 

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, etc.)5+ months of experience in a lab environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an environment with strict deadlinesUse of hands-on equipment and automationGood communication skills with the ability to respond to colleagues effectively and ability to approach others to discuss work related items in a manner that will allow for a successful outcomeAbility to master new and old equipment acquired for manufacturing efficiency    Strong manufacturing knowledge base and the ability to comprehend and communicate basic technical conceptsAbility to work independently and identify and resolve issues in a timely mannerExhibits sound and accurate judgmentAdaptability for maximum efficiency when priorities shift due to customer needs
