Through our Give Back program, we own our commitment to Social Responsibility and live our purpose of Packaging a Better Future. **Responsibilities** **Job purpose** The Quality Lab Technician role is responsible to perform various quality tests to ensure product meets customer need, regulatory requirements, and that the manufacturing process is within prescribed limits. **Duties and responsibilities** The primary job duties and responsibilities are: + Follows all documented safety, quality, and production procedures. + Monitors process for changes in conditions and raw material. + Performs various tests on incoming raw material and product. + Perform quality check on in-process products. (e.g. UPC scanning, correct print, bundle weight, hinges, moisture) + Implements countermeasures for quality defects. + Monitors overall quality of product on shift. + Monitors and record test results. + Communicates changes in operating conditions and quality defects to supervisors. + Removes all supplies from work area not required. + Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards. + Maintains excellent safety record. + Maintains excellent attendance record. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Experience** Experience required: + At least three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment (pulp and paper industry preferred); including successful completion of jobs or similar activities requiring control of a mechanical process and inspection of product to meet quality standards. + Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures. + Demonstrated understanding of statistical process control (SPC). + Prior laboratory experience preferred. **Skills** An individual must have the following skills in the Quality Lab Technician position: + Ability to work safely and to communicate with others in a professional manner. + Detail-oriented. + Technical aptitude for evaluating a process. **Physical requirements** This position is located in a manufacturing location.
