Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: New York City, Onsite East 29th Street (near NYU)
Shift: 9-5:30 M-F
Duration: 18 months
Pay: Up to $33.40 /hour depending upon experience
Must Haves: Associate's degree required. Experience shipping and receiving lab samples and consumables. DOT, RCRA, and IATA certifications preferred. FDNY C-14 Certificate of Fitness preferred. Experience aliquoting preferred. Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and requirements. Data entry and computer skills. Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills. Experience in a research lab environment required. Responsibilities: Handle and prepare samples for testing, maintaining and documenting accurate records. Receive, unload, unpack, and inspect all laboratory deliveries. Manage lab inventory logistics in the laboratory/stockrooms upon arrival according to department needs. Report damages or shortages to supervisors. Match shipments to their associated requestor and enter receiving data in the purchase request database. Monitor laboratory inventory levels daily. Maintain HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) compliance of all receiving areas. Assist with outgoing lab shipments. Assist with lab waste disposal. Assist with domestic outgoing lab shipments. Aliquoting, glass washing, and autoclaving. Work on short-term projects.
