Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level lab technician for our Environment Testing partner in the Tacoma, Washington area. The main function of the lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The technician is expected to utilize general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.

ResponsibilitiesRetrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.Perform sample preparation including aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, and liquid rack set up.Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks.Wash lab glassware to prepare for next day's samples.Stock lab supplies.Essential SkillsBasic lab experience or high school chemistry coursework.Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.Basic knowledge of the information and techniques for lab testing.Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Chemistry or Environmental Science preferred.High school diploma or GED required.Basic lab experience or high school chemistry course work Comfortable with a flexible schedule, including swing shifts or weekends.Work Environment

The work environment includes an afternoon shift from Monday to Friday, primarily 11 AM to 7 PM, with some weekend work required. The lab technician may float between sample receiving, organics prep, and metals teams as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
