Lab Technician
Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob Description The Laboratory Technician role is centered around detailed testing and the use of specialized equipment. The position involves data collection and some analysis, with occasional contact with both internal and external customers and vendors. The technician will perform chemical and physical analyses and tests necessary for research, development, or quality control, providing support to the Research and Development Scientist. Responsibilities + Conduct laboratory tests to aid scientists in qualitative and quantitative analyses of materials using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy. + Perform routine analyses to verify accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of test data. + Record data and prepare simple charts or graphs. + Follow work instructions and established operating procedures and test methods accurately. + Maintain and clean laboratory instruments and equipment. + Ensure a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams, and by conducting laboratory or plant safety audits. + Provide technical support or assistance to engineers. Essential Skills + Quality assurance testing + Ceramic + Materials science + Laboratory experience + Quality control + Chromatography + Spectroscopy + Microscopy + Geology Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1-3 years of related laboratory experience + Degrees in Material Science, Geology, Chemistry preferred Work Environment This position is based on-site in a laboratory environment, with part of the work involving a 50-foot chamber used for compacting powders and conducting moisture readings. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7 am to 3:30 pm or 8 am to 4:30 pm, offering some flexibility. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
