BASIC FUNCTION:
The test lab technician will support the development of new products and the improvement of existing products by building, servicing, troubleshooting, fabricating and testing pumps, pump systems and their components along with analyzing test results and conducting teardown evaluations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Test pumps and pump components in accordance with the lab schedule; this will include:Plumb and wire pumps for testingOperate test equipmentTabulate/report test resultsFabricating components and fixtures for testAnalyze test resultsTear down and rebuild pumpsEvaluate and troubleshoot pumpsUtilize basic MS Office applicationsFollow work instructions and create new instructions where none existMinimal (less than 5%) travelOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalentThree to five years related experience or two-year associate degree in related field plus one to three years related experienceGood mechanical and electrical aptitudeUnderstanding of AC and DC power systems, electrical schematics, and ladder logicMachinist skills preferredFamiliarity with pumps and pump systemsGood written and oral communication skills requiredExperience with Microsoft Office applicationsLifting up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds about 2/3 of the time, and up to 100 pounds up to 1/3 of the time. Must reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance. These are incorporated in frequent need to lift large plumbing, parts, or pumps.
