Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description Perform laboratory tests and other laboratory work using both conventional and computerized machines and work aids. Conduct tests in accordance with prescribed standards to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition. Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. Responsibilities + Enter a variety of data to maintain records, update information, and track results. + Respond to basic or standard customer questions regarding formulas and the mixture process. + Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment while ensuring a clean and safe working environment. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Proficiency in laboratory work, chemistry, research, and testing. + Experience with R&D, formulation, mixing, measuring, and experimentation. + Knowledge in synthesis, quality control, and batch processing. + Experience with liquids, coatings, paint, and color matching. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED is required; Associates degree or non-degree is preferred. + 1 year of chemical lab experience is preferred. + Basic math skills are required. + Experience in color differentiation is necessary. + Proven good organization and documentation skills, verified with references. + Proven ability to take direction, verified with references. Work Environment This role is situated in an industrial lab environment, not a clean room or biological lab. The position offers flexible 1st shift hours, Monday through Friday, typically working an 8-hour shift from 7/8 AM to 4/5 PM, with core hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. The dress code is business casual, and a lab coat is required. The organization is known for promoting from within, though candidates should be aware that the expectation is to be in this role for 9 months, with potential conversion not guaranteed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
