Job Title: Lab Technician-Microbiology Job Description Summary: The main function of a lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The typical lab technician is expected to use general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures. You will need to pass state testing within 3 months of hiring, with all training done on the job during the first 3 months. Any experience with micro plating is beneficial. Responsibilities: 1. Follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, such as Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. 2. Adhere to quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory, and company requirements. 3. Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a clean, safe work environment. 4. Register incoming samples, maintain neat and accurate records of work performed daily and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes. 5. Enter sample data into LIMS systems, either manually or through automatic export, in a timely and accurate manner. 6. Perform core methods in accordance with quality and productivity expectations. 7. Verify and submit results, either electronically or in hard copy, to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner. 8. Identify process difficulties and report them along with proposed solutions to the supervisor. 9. Maintain readiness and willingness to respond to queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers. 10. Perform other related duties as assigned and manage time to ensure productivity. 11. Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work area and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment. 12. Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 13. Promote the company image through ethical business practices related to the public and customers.
