Laboratory Technician - 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician for the 1st shift to join our team. In this role, you will set up and run laboratory experiments, analyze test specimens, and work on projects related to materials selection and corrosion testing. Your responsibilities will include experimental setup, data collection, and reporting, as well as inspecting, testing, repairing, and installing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and conduct laboratory experiments.Analyze test specimens and document findings.Perform tasks related to materials selection, corrosion testing, and analysis.Inspect, test, repair, and install laboratory equipment.Work independently on project activities under the supervision of the project investigator.Adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance protocols on all projects.Record research activities in the lab book.Perform other duties as assigned, including solution preparation, cleaning test cells, moving items in the lab, and calibrating equipment as per prescribed procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar field.Strong mechanical aptitude.Experience in materials testing is a plus.Must have a solid understanding of hydraulic pressure testing methods (e.g., MTS, Instron, Servohydraulic, Fatigue testing, Tinius Olsen).

Work Environment:

You will be working in a lab setting alongside 12 other technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Shift:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with expectations for regular overtime. Flexible start times are available between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Duration:

This is a contract position lasting 6-12 months, with the possibility of converting to a direct hire.
