Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description

Join our innovative fragrance company as a Lab Technician on a 6-month contract, with potential for extension or permanent placement. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn basic wet chemistry and bench techniques, contributing to the development of hundreds of unique fragrances. This role is ideal for those eager to gain experience in a lab environment and grow within a dynamic and expanding organization.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with chemical operators and fragrance scientists to test incoming, in-process, and final samples before shipment to customers.Spend 90% of the time in the lab conducting tests and 10% documenting or retrieving items from the floor.Perform physical property testing, specific gravity testing, and pH testing.Learn and eventually operate GCMS equipment.Compound and create individual fragrances.Restock and maintain the lab.Ensure timely and accurate compounding and testing of 12-20 formulas per day.Work independently while also assisting peers to ensure products are sent out on time.Essential SkillsBachelor's or Associate's degree in a science-related field (Bachelor's preferred).Lab experience, including school lab experience.Experience in a fast-paced work environment, such as restaurant, fast food, or customer service.Additional Skills & QualificationsEagerness to learn and grow within a lab setting.Comfortable with a contract position that could be extended.Ability to work independently with high autonomy.Reliability and punctuality.Willingness to help others and collaborate effectively.Work Environment

This role is based in a fragrance lab within a manufacturing environment. The lab includes 3 Perfumers and 2-3 Lab Technicians. Candidates should not have allergies to fragrances or harsh sensitivities to smells. The environment is similar to other chemical companies, requiring physical testing and smelling of fragrances.
