Job Description
Translate order requirements into a process to formulate oligos to the customer’s specifications. Quantify and sample oligos for quality control. Assess QC data accurately and make pass/fail decisions for oligos. Complete replication of plate and/or tube orders. Complete backend checks on final product, as required. Maintain daily ship deadlines for all products. Use automated and manual lab equipment accurately, including limited maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Maximize automation for all processes. Use custom software packages to complete tasks and create final product. Work in a variety of PC software programs using strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
ResponsibilitiesTranslate order requirements into a process to formulate oligos to the customer’s specifications.Quantify and sample oligos for quality control.Assess QC data accurately and make pass/fail decisions for oligos.Complete replication of plate and/or tube orders.Complete backend checks on final product, as required.Maintain daily ship deadlines for all products.Use automated and manual lab equipment accurately, including limited maintenance and troubleshooting activities.Maximize automation for all processes.Use custom software packages to complete tasks and create final product.Essential SkillsProficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.Ability to perform repetitive and manual work (pipetting, labeling) or to perform continuously the same work, according to set procedures, sequence, or pace.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other life science preferred OR Associates Degree in Life Science.Knowledge in quality control, DNA extraction, DNA sequencing, biology, pipetting, formulations, adding buffers to PAGE oligos, liquid handlers, chemistry, microbiology, quality assurance, and PCR.Work EnvironmentWork in the PAGE Long Oligo Lab. Contract position for 6-9 months supporting a project. Monday - Thursday, 7:30pm-5:30am. Training shift may vary based on trainer's availability.About Actalent
